The door was open. The light from outside lit up the kitchen as I entered. There were two people sitting at the table talking quietly, one being a tall woman with short brown hair and the other being a younger man who looked to be about 20. They didn’t see me enter so I slipped silently into the room behind them. As I approached, I could see they were both looking down at their phones and not really paying attention to each other.

I reached over and lightly grabbed the back of her head. She jumped slightly but it was just enough for me to reach in and run my finger along the line of her neck, moving up to her earlobe and gently squeezing. My touch seemed to snap them out of their conversation, and she turned towards me with a smile. “Sorry,” she said, “I wasn’t watching where I was going.”

“That’s ok, we’re done anyway,” he replied, putting his phone down. He stood up and leaned forward. His eyes locked with mine. They were blue like mine, but darker.

He smiled. “Hi, I’m Ryan.” He extended his hand. I took it and shook it firmly, returning the gesture. “Nice to meet you, Alexis. You look even more beautiful than your pictures.”

She blushed, her face growing redder by the second. “Thank you.”

Ryan laughed. “Don’t worry; I’m not hitting on you or anything.”

“Oh, thank god!” Alexis giggled. “I think I have a boyfriend already, he might get jealous if he sees this picture!”

“What?” Ryan raised an eyebrow.

“You know, him and I are exclusive.”
